A Greenfield Highway Department plow driver is facing misdemeanor assault charges after he deliberately forced snow at a man last week, causing an injury to his arm, authorities say.

William Semzock, 61, was plowing snow on Porters Corners Road around 1 p.m. on Feb. 2, when he recklessly forced snow on a man standing near the roadway, according to deputies with the Saratoga County Sheriff's Department. The man, who was standing near his home, suffered an arm injury from the snow churned up by the plow truck's blade and later sought treatment, investigators said.

Deputies weren't sure what precipitated the incident, but indicated the man's injuries weren't serious. Semzock was charged with third-degree assault and released on an appearance ticket.

Greenfield Highway Superintendent Walter Barrs couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
