State police say a Colonie man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly loaded up two suitcases

State police say a Colonie man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly loaded up two suitcases from Wal-Mart with various computer merchandise and then left the store without paying.

Christopher L. Johnson, 25, of Colonie was charged Friday with fourth-degree grand larceny following an investigation into the theft at the Wilton retailer. He was sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail.

Investigators said Johnson grabbed a suitcase from off the shelf at the store and then proceeded to fill it with more than $1,000 worth of merchandise. Computer routers, software and other hardware were taken, according to police.

Police said further investigation revealed Johnson perpetrated similar thefts at Wal-Mart stores in Queensbury, Halfmoon, Glenville, Rotterdam, and Cobleskill. Johnson was located in Colonie by state police. Additional charges are expected.
