A Schenectady County man accused of robbing his mother at their home in Duanesburg was indicted on a slew of new charges in Saratoga County, including driving while under the influence of drugs.
Brian P. Ouimet, 37, was indicted Thursday on the charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He was also indicted on the misdemeanor charges of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally possessing a hypodermic needle. He was arrested in June by Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies.
In the other case, Ouimet, who lived with his girlfriend and his 69-year-old mother, was arrested Jan. 21 after allegedly attacking his mother with a blunt object. State police investigators said he initially asked his mother for cash, then struck her in the head when she refused.
Troopers said he made off with her ATM card under threat of assaulting her again and withdrew money from her bank account. Ouimet and his girlfriend fled the area in a vehicle owned by his parents, but was located the next day.
