A Schenectady County woman is facing felony charges after she received more than $7,000 in benefits

A Schenectady County woman is facing felony charges after she received more than $7,000 in benefits she was not entitled to, according to state police.

Cynthia A. Bucci, 62, of Pattersonville, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts each of third-degree grand larceny, first-degree falsifying business records and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. Law enforcement officials say she received more than $3,000 from the Department of Labor and more than $4,000 from the Department of Social Services last year.

State police, along with the state Department of Labor, Schenectady County Department of Social Services and the U.S. Department of Treasury, jointly investigated the case.

Bucci was arraigned in Schenectady Police Court and released on her own recognizance to return March 12.
