Sonic Drive-In is holding a four-day job fair next week as it tries to fill 100 full- and part-time positions ahead of its Latham store opening.

The drive-in restaurant chain, popular in the South and Midwest but rapidly expanding into the Northeast, announced last year a plan to open eight locations in the Capital Region over the next seven years. The first location, at 701 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham, is gearing up for a late June opening.

The local franchise is owned by Patricia Bruder and operated by Kurt Doolittle and Frank Fata, who will be at next week’s job fair to meet with interested candidates. The restaurant needs assistant managers, cooks, crew members and the iconic skating carhops.

The job fair will be held Wednesday through Saturday, May 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Microtel Inn, 7 Rensselaer Ave., just off Northway Exit 7. Candidates interested incarhop positions are asked to bring skates and show up between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday to be evaluated by trained skating carhops.

Interested applicants should bring a driver’s license, Social Security card and resume and should be prepared for an interview on site. All applicants are encouraged to fill out an online application in advance at www.sonicdrivein.com/jobs/drivein.
