Capital Region radio station WFLY’s big day out got a little bigger Friday night.
The station tweeted that national television sensation and Montgomery County resident Sawyer Fredericks will perform next Saturday at the FLY92.3 Summer Jam 2015.
“It’s OFFICIAL: Winner of The Voice & local star, Sawyer Fredericks is coming to SUMMER JAM 2015! We’re 8 days away,” read the tweet on the station’s Twitter account.
The June 6 show at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center already included six acts, including British singer Charli XCX, rock and pop band Echosmith and hip-hop recording artist B.o.B.
Fredericks, the 16-year-old from the town of Glen, wowed the nation in NBC’s televised singing competition, “The Voice,” scoring with judges and people watching at home with his covers of songs such as “I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow” and “For What It’s Worth.”
Fredericks was named the winner of the competition May 19. A complete collecction of the songs he performed on “The Voice” debuted this week on the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 6.
Summer Jam 2014 also had a “Voice” connection. Show fan favorite Dani Moz, who made the live elimination trials earlier in the spring, performed at the SPAC Summer Jam.
