Schenectady County will receive $818,654 from a state program to combat gun violence, the state anno

Schenectady County will receive $818,654 from a state program to combat gun violence, the state announced earlier this week.

Schenectady is one of 17 counties receiving a total of $13.3 million under the Gun Involved Violence Elimination Program.

The initiative, entering its second year, helps law enforcement concentrate on high crime areas and in prosecuting chronic offenders. It also provides training in the use of data analysis and intelligence to better fight crime.
