A man and his stepson were arrested today following a domestic dispute in Wilton that left the stepson with a severe cut.
State police received a report Wednesday around 12:40 p.m. of a stabbing at 191 Ruggles Road. When they arrived, they found 18-year-old Thomas C. Hill with a severe laceration to a lower extremity, according to a news release issued Wednesday.
An investigation revealed Hill and his stepfather, 58-year-old James G. Service, had been arguing when the teen shoved his stepfather, who was carrying a glass bowl, troopers said. The bowl broke as Service fell to the ground, and troopers said he picked up the broken bowl and threw it as his stepson, causing the injury.
Service was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, while Hill was charged with second-degree harassment, a violation; fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor; and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after police say he was found in possession of items with hash oil residue and concentrated cannabis oil.
Both men are scheduled to appear June 16 in Wilton Town Court.
