Graduation photos always meant graduation publicity in the Schenectady Gazette.
During the 1940s and ’50s, mid-June editions of the newspaper included dozens of group shots that showed teenagers moving up in the world.
Most of the time, the photos were submitted with just the names — and not the orders in which young men and women were standing. So in four of the five photos from 1951 featured in today’s Scrapbook, we can’t tell exactly who’s who.
We can tell you that each sharp-dressed student seemed happy to be graduating, and looked optimistic about the future.
