A fire on Elm Street early Sunday displaced three families.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. Sunday in the basement of 22 Elm St. Fourteen people were displaced from the home, but no injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is providing temporary shelter and financial assistance for food and clothing for a family of three adults and seven children.

Two other families of two adults each also were displaced as a result of the fire, according to the Red Cross.
