Police are still putting the pieces together in a Saturday morning crash that killed a Fonda woman.
The Johnstown Police Department has identified the woman as Emily M. Hanson, 73.
According to the police report, Hanson was driving west on East State Street/Route 67 in Johnstown around 11:30 a.m. when she passed another vehicle, then veered into a ditch and flipped her car repeatedly until it struck the front porch of a home on East State Street and came to rest.
Hanson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the accident is still under investigation.
According to a Facebook post Wednesday, the Johnstown Police Department is hoping to find and interview the driver of a white minivan with a black roof rack that would have been traveling west on Highway 67 coming into the city of Johnstown Saturday morning.
The vehicle was not involved in the accident, but police believe it may have been passed by a black Chevrolet Impala at high speed just before the crash. Police said they also believe the driver of the minivan pulled over near the accident scene.
“We are simply looking to interview the driver to be able to compile the most accurate and detailed explanation of events leading up to the accident,” they wrote in the Facebook post.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department at 736-4002 or 736-4030.
