A 22-year-old Troy man pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide Tuesday morning in the July death of Sustainable Saratoga co-founder Amy Stock, 48.

Kadeem Fowler submitted the plea in front of Albany County Judge Stephen Herrick, admitting responsibility for Stock’s death, according to Albany County District Attorney David Soares.

During the early morning hours of July 19, Fowler crashed into cars parked on Quail Street and First Street in Albany before driving away at 75 mph. Fowler passed through three stop signs and crashed into Stock’s car, killing her.

Fowler registered a blood alcohol content of .27 percent at the time - well above the legal limit of .08. He had been charged with driving while impaired in 2012 in the Village of Menands.

When sentenced in January, Fowler faces up to 25 years in prison.

“The destruction caused by Mr. Fowler began with his decision to get behind the wheel of his car while drunk...” Soares said in a statement. “This senseless death began with a senseless decision.”
