A Schenectady man faces multiple weapons-related charges in connection with a gun he allegedly possessed illegally at his residence, authorities said.

Leo R. Jansen, 60, of Sixth Avenue, faces two counts each of second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.

He is accused of possessing a .22-caliber handgun at his residence Sunday, which would be illegal due to a previous criminal conviction. The gun was defaced to conceal its origins, according to papers filed in court.
