Basketball: Siena women lose in OT, fall to 0-5

Justice Swett converted a three-point play with 38 seconds left in overtime, helping Navy to a 59-58

Justice Swett converted a three-point play with 38 seconds left in overtime, helping Navy to a 59-58 victory over Siena in the first round of the Navy Classic on Friday.

Swett was fouled by Joella Gibson as she made a layup to tie the score 56-56. Her free throw gave Navy (4-1) a one-point lead.

Bianca Roach made a free throw with 22 seconds left, and Peri Curtis converted a foul shot two seconds later to make it 59-56.

Kollyns Scarbrough of Siena hit two foul shots with six seconds remaining. Scarbrough finished with 19 points.

Magot Hetzke had 16 points and 19 rebounds for Siena (0-5), which outrebounded Navy (4-1) 63-36.

The Saints play Morgan State in the third-place game at 3:30 p.m. today.
