Boys' basketball: Mohonasen loses to Averill Park in OT

Averill Park outscored Mohonasen 7-5 in overtime to post a 51-49 victory in a Suburban Council game

Averill Park outscored Mohonasen 7-5 in overtime to post a 51-49 victory in a Suburban Council game Tuesday night.

Averill Park, led by Isaiah Moak with 20 points, got it into overtime with a 17-6 fourth quarter.

Steve Celmins led Mohonasen with 15 points.

Troy dominated Schenectady in the first half 30-8 on the way to a 62-47 victory.

Daniel Buie scored 24 points for Troy, and Darius Holmes-Hines added 14.

Mike Wynn erupted for 35 points as Christian Brothers Academy got past Albany 69-64.

Ian Schultz added 15 points for the Brothers, and Isaiah Scurry led the Falcons with 19 points.

Andrew Sischo scored 21 points to lead Guilderland past Columbia 62-48.

Michael Wine added 12 points for the Dutchmen, and Justin Luther scored 20 for Columbia.

Colonie trailed Bethlehem by 3 heading into the fourth quarter, but outscored the Eagles 19-13 to pull out a 71-68 victory.

Isaiah Moll and Brendan Mulson scored 22 and 21 points, respectively, for the Garnet Raiders.

Michael Ortale led Bethlehem with 16 points, and Hayden Thompson scored 15.

Josh Hipwell scored 20 points as Ballston Spa rolled past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 56-34.

Saratoga Springs got 17 points from Mike Tillman and 14 from Adam Anderson as the Blue Streaks rolled past Shaker 65-40.

Sean Degraffenreid scored 18 points as Scotia-Glenville improved to 3-0 overall with an 82-39 victory over Hudson Falls to open the Foothills Council season.

Dan Clune scored 16 points for the Tartans, and Cameron Jett led Hudson Falls with 20 points.

Kory Bergh scored 17 points, and Tysean Hanna had 16 as Amsterdam edged Johnstown in overtime 69-67.

Jamal Vazquez led the Sir Bills with 18 points, and Devin Boyle scored 15.

Glens Falls led by 15 and rolled to a 79-47 victory over Schuylerville, as Joe Girard made nine three-pointers and scored 36 points for the Indians.

Matthew Higgins made 15 of 19 free throws and finished with 28 points as South Glens Falls defeated Queensbury 70-57.

Broadalbin-Perth built a 35-13 halftime lead and had an easy time with Gloversville 76-36.

Preston Taylor led the Patriots with 20 points, and Cincenzo DiCaterino scored 15.

Eighth-grader Jackson Atty made five three-pointers and scored 16 as Fonda-Fultonville defeated Lansingburgh 61-35 in the Colonial Council.

Gabe LaPratt scored 13 points for the Braves, Dan Barslow had 11 points, six assists and six rebounds and Rusty Warner grabbed 12 rebounds.

Mechanicville outscored Hoosick Falls 17-11 to come back and win 60-57 in the Wasaren League.

Evan Dunn, who finished with 29 points, made two free throws late to put the Red Raiders up by 3.

Jacob Henes scored 12 points for Mechanicville (1-0, 2-1), and Alex Mendez led Hoosick Falls with 24.

Stillwater took a 40-18 halftime lead over Hoosic Valley and went on to win 62-49, as Mitchell Wayand scored 24 points for the Warriors and Jared D’Aloia scored 21.

Don Espey and Dan Joslin each had 15 points for Hoosic Valley.
