A Glenville man being written a citation during a traffic stop Thursday evening drove away to discard drugs, authorities said.

Scott D. Gibson, 47, of Harvest Drive, faces one count each of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, felonies.

Police pulled Gibson over just before 5 p.m. Thursday in the area of State and Mynderse streets. As the officer wrote traffic summons, Gibson is accused of driving around the corner to discard cocaine he possessed, according to court paperwork.

Gibson also faces two misdemeanor counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of obstructing governmental administration, along with violation marijuana possession.
