Police have arrested a 16-year-old student for allegedly making a false bomb threat at the Cobleskill-Richmondville High School Tuesday morning.
The student, whose name has not been released due to his age, was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony, according to the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Department.
High school students were re-routed on their way to school Tuesday morning and sheltered at the middle school campus in Cobleskill while police investigated the threat, which was based on writing on a bathroom wall, according to police.
They were allowed back into the school and classes had resumed as normal by 10 a.m. after police determined that the school was safe.
The student was arraigned in the Town of Richmondville Court and released to his parents. He’s due back in court at a later date.
