The 20-year-old woman police have been searching for since she went missing last Friday was found dead today, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office said.
Christine B. Lee of Saratoga Springs was found around noon in a large wooded area west of Route 9 as part of a search being conducted by sheriff's deputies and forest rangers of lands around her mother's home, where she was when she went missing in the early morning hours of last Friday.
"The investigation into Christine's death is on-going, but there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances," Sheriff Michael H. Zurlo said in a statement.
At the time she went missing, deputies said they she was not dressed for the weather, wearing only pajama pants and no footwear. She appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.
Zurlo said the expertise of state forest rangers was "pivotal" in locating the body, and thanked them, along with others who provided assistance during the search, including a state police helicopter unit. Forest rangers joined the search on Wednesday after initial search efforts were unsuccessful.
