Jailene Santiago had a day to remember Thursday, throwing a one-hitter and hitting a grand slam in Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons’ 18-0 Western Athletic Conference softball win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Santiago struck out seven and finished with five RBIs.

Duanesburg beat Schoharie 11-2 in another Western Athletic Conference game. Torie Geiger had two singles and a double for Duanesburg. Hannah Madison went 2-for-3 for Schoharie.

Fort Plain scored five runs in the top of the eighth to get by Canajoharie 16-11. Maecee Lathers went 3-for-5 with two RBIs for Fort Plain. Katie Towse had two hits for Canajoharie.

Columbia held on to beat Mohonasen 2-1 for a Suburban Council victory. Jennah Hogan drove in Columbia’s two runs with a single in the third inning. Sydney Carter had an RBI single for Mohonasen.

Allie Lajeunesse threw a complete-game shutout and struck out six to lead Shaker to a 2-0 win over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.

Ashlyn Kersch threw a one hit shutout, striking out 14 to lead Ballston Spa past Schen­ectady 14-0. Lauren Kersch hit a two-run homer for th Scotties.

Holy Names defeated Alb­any Academy 7-2 in a Colonial Council matchup. Ally Dewey had a triple, RBI and scored a run for Holy Names. Carli Voellm had an RBI triple for Albany Academy.

Lansingburgh held off Cobleskill-Richmondville 3-1. Maddy Badger had two doubles and an RBI for Lansingburgh. Lauren Nash singled for Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Bailey Kross hit two doubles, a triple and drove in six runs to lead Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk past Voorheesville 14-2. Lauren Dlugolecki had an RBI triple for Voorheesville.

Amsterdam defeated Gloversville 6-1 for the Foothills Council win. Emma Patrei hit two singles and scored twice for Amsterdam.

Grace Purvis threw a one-hit shutout for Scotia-Glenville in its 9-0 win over Broadalbin-Perth 9-0. Purvis also had a single, double and two RBIs.

Courtney Fraher had a home run and four RBIs in Greenwich’s Wasaren League win over Tamarac 15-0.

Sasha Bonesteel went 4-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Emma Willard past Germantown 13-7 in a Central Hudson Valley League matchup. Allie Gregory had a triple and an RBI for Germantown.

Waterford-Halfmoon defeated Heatly 14-9. Haley Bodah hit a two run home run for Waterford-Halfmoon.

Monaca Weisenforth had a single, double, and a triple with two RBIs for Heatly.

BASEBALL

Greenwich rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a walk-off 4-3 win over Tamarac in Wasaren League play. Lucas Whitehouse tied the game up with an RBI single before Jordan Ostrowski drove home the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly. Greenwich remains undefeated at 6-0.

Columbia edged Mohonasen 3-2 in the Suburban Council. Jarrett Fortin surrendered just four hits and tossed a complete game to earn the win.

Broadalbin-Perth earned an 11-2 Foothills Council win over Gloversville. Broadalbin finished with 16 hits, with Will Austin and Nick Myers each collecting three. Tyler Graham surrendered just one run over six innings to get the win.

Jack Kerrigan drove in three runs to lead Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk to an 8-4 Colonial Council win over Voorheesville. Logan Frangella added a pair of doubles and three runs scored. Brandon Nichols drove in three for Voorheesville. The loss was Voorheesville’s first of the season.

Brooks Knapek recorded his second consecutive complete-game shutout in Alb­any Academy’s 2-0 win over LaSalle. Brett Young added a pair of hits as Albany Academy handed La-Salle its first Colonial Council loss.

John Zadenburgh doubled, tripled and collected three RBIs to lead Lansingburgh to an 8-5 win over Cobleskill-Richmondville. Nat Lyman added three hits and an RBI. Brandon Loder went 2-for-4 with a double for Cobleskill.

Schoharie defeated Duanesburg 9-3 in Western Athletic Conference action. Steve Alescio picked up the win on the mound, collecting 15 strikeouts, and added three hits, including a pair of doubles.

Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville beat Mayfield 12-2. Brad Smith tossed four hitless innings in relief to earn the win, the 20th of his high school career. Dylan Klock added three singles.

Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons took down Berne-Knox-Westerlo 9-6. Brandon LaVenture struck out 11 in the complete-game victory. Chris Kordziel tallied a pair of hits, drove in a pair of runs and scored two more in the win.

Fort Plain edged Canajoharie 4-2. Jesse Harris got the win, and addedtwo hits and an RBI at the plate. Sam May surrendered four hits as the starter for Canajoharie.

Waterford-Halfmoon remained undefeated in Centra; Huson Valley League league play with an 11-2 win over Heatly. Connor Houle struck out 10, had three hits and scored three runs.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Aidan Byrne scored seven goals, powering Niskayuna to a 21-7 Suburban Council boys’ lacrosse victory over Saratoga Springs.

Lucas Quinn had three goals and four assists for the Silver Warriors, who scored 10 goals in the second quarter to take a 17-4 halftime lead. Dylan Pantalone added three goals and two assists, and James Sexton scored three times.

Jack Hardy led the Blue Streaks with three goals.

Owen Putman’s four goals and two assists carred Shenendehowa to 13-7 win over Bethlehem. Adam Barcori had three goals and an assist for the Plainsmen, and Matt Stucchi collected two goals and two assists.

Jared Hoff’s four goals led Shaker to an 11-8 win over Guilderland. Luke Julian had two goals and an assist for the Blue Bison, while Nick Pepe added two goals.

Guilderland was paced by Ryan Fish with two goals and two assists. Kevin Dyer and Connor Quimby each had two goals and an assist, and Tyler Rivera contributed two goals.

Will Clark had six goals and one assist, leading Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake past CBA 14-5. Mike Levan ahd three goals and four assists for the Spartans (6-0), and Ben Clark added three goals.

Chris Willox led CBA (2-4) with three goals.

Ballston Spa took a 14-1 halftime lead and finished with a 20-2 win over Albany. Hans Zimmer’s four goals and two assists led the way for the Scotties (4-2). Zac Schuette and Joe McDonald added three goals each.

John Hawkins and Greg Gavitt had two goals and assist each to lift Columbia past Averill Park 12-2.

In the Foothills Council, Queensbury rolled past Scotia-Glenville 20-3. Mike Carpenter had five goals and three assists for the Spartans (5-0 FC, 8-1 overall). Jake Miller added four goals and three assists.

JJ Goetz scored twice for the Tartans (1-4, 3-4).
