A Malta man faces a felony drunk driving charge after being arrested early Saturday morning on the Northway, state police said.
Troopers said Ian R. Farley, 32, was stopped around 12:30 a.m. in Malta after his vehicle was observed committing traffic violations on the interstate.
Troopers said while interviewing the driver they detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, leading to Farley’s arrest after a field sobriety test.
Farley was transported back to the Malta barracks where he provided a breath sample that they said found a 0.15 blood alcohol concentration, about twice the level needed to establish legal intoxication.
Farley was charged with the felony due to a previous DWI conviction, troopers said. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
