A Friday night baseball bat attack sent two people to the hospital, including the man deputies believe was the initial aggressor, police said.

No charges have been filed in the incident, but Warren County investigators are waiting to speak with the man hospitalized, identified as 45-year-old Eric Moulton of Lake Luzerne, Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. Steven Stockdale said.

The incident began that evening with an argument between Moulton’s 18-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old girl, Stockdale said.

After that ended, Moulton’s daughter went home and then returned with her brother and father. Witnesses told deputies that Eric Moulton got out of his vehicle with a baseball bat and struck a man several times with the bat.

That man then pulled his own bat out of his vehicle and struck Moulton as Moulton continued to threaten others, Stockdale said.

The initial victim was treated and released from the hospital. Moulton, however, was taken to Albany Medical Center and was listed in fair condition Monday, Stockdale said.

No charges are expected against the initial victim for hitting Moulton as investigators believe it was in self defense, Stockdale said.
