A three-car accident at the intersection of McClellan and Nott streets this afternoon sent several people to a hospital with minor injuries.

One vehicle ran the light at the busy intersection shortly after 3 p.m., turning a second on its side and ramming it into a third, according to Deputy Fire Chief Don Mareno.

The car that tipped over had four occupants, three of them children. They were unharmed, and were taken out of the car by Schenectady firefighters.

The other two cars each had one occupant. One man sustained minor injuries to his hand and the other driver was unharmed, Mareno said.

The people involved in the accident were taken to Ellis Hospital as a precaution.
