A Saratoga Springs woman was indicted by a Saratoga County grand jury Monday on two felony charges related to an incident in which she allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian walking on Route 9 in Halfmoon last December and delayed reporting it.
Maria L. Lentini, 30, of Circular Street, was indicted on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal personal injury accident without reporting it, and first-degree reckless endangerment, both Class D felonies. She was also charged with refusing to submit to a breath test.
Lentini was arrested a few days after the Dec, 6, 2015 late-night incident that claimed the life of Patrick T. Duff, 30, of London Square Apartments, Clifton Park.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Department said the charges were based on Lentini’s waiting more than an hour to report the accident in which she allegedly struck Duff, who was walking on Route 9.
The Sheriff's Department said it received a 911 call at 3:44 a.m. on Dec. 6 about a car/pedestrian accident on the northbound side of Route 9 in Halfmoon, just north of the Kinns Road intersection. Lentini was driving alone, police said, and Duff came through the windshield.
No charges initially were filed against Lentini, but the investigation later revealed the accident actually happened at 2:29 a.m., more than an hour earlier than she reported it, deputies said.
Lentini is free on $20,000 cash bail pending arraignment in Saratoga County Court.

u Michael J. Cole, 31, of Birch Meadows, Saratoga Springs, was indicted on charges of felony fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal impersonation and identity theft. Cole was arrested in May 2015 in Saratoga Springs.
