An ATV struck a Toyota in Schenectady Sunday evening sending three people to the hospital.

Two males, whose identities are not being released, were traveling east on Hegeman Street around 8 p.m. when their ATV struck a Toyota traveling south on Neil Street, according to police.

The two people on the ATV were ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious head injuries, police said.

They were treated on the scene by members of the Schenectady Fire Department, transported to Ellis Hospital, and later sent to Albany Medical Center.

The Toyota skidded off the street after being hit by the ATV and stopped on the front lawn of a nearby house, according to police.

The female driver was transported to Ellis Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said drugs and alcohol were ruled out as a factor in regard to the female driver. Police are continuing to investigate the driver of the ATV.
