Plans to build new townhouses at Mohawk Harbor will move forward after the $9 million project received approval this week from the Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority.
The Metroplex board approved the Galesi Group’s plans Wednesday night. The project will put 15 townhouses in a 50,000 square foot development facing the Mohawk River. Each unit will feature two covered parking spaces and a balcony facing the river.
The townhouse structure was approved by the Schenectady Planning Commission in September 2015 after Galesi Group downsized its proposed development from 24 to 15 units.
The townhouse project is one of several going up on the Mohawk Harbor site. A new Courtyard by Marriott is slated to open soon, and the Rivers Casino and Resort at Mohawk Harbor is expected to open its doors in early 2017.
