A 21 year old Rexford man was charged Thursday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to state police.

Troopers began investigating 21 year old John W. Duval on Aug. 25, after receiving a report from someone in the community that he had inappropriate contact with minors.

Several individuals, including minors, were interviewed by police, according to Trooper Mark Cepiel, public information officer for Troop G. Cepiel said Duval befriended minors in the community, but no further details were available.

Duval was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and is scheduled to appear again at 3 p.m. on Oct. 11 to answer the charges, according to the state police.
