A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly having sex with an underage teen in Saratoga Springs.
At approximately 1 a.m. Saturday, Yves B. Philippe, 21, of Port Chester, in Westchester County, was arrested and charged with third-degree rape, a felony, police said. He is accused of having sex with a female younger than 17.
He also faces misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and false personation.
During the afternoon of Sept. 16, the Saratoga Springs Police Department took a missing person report about a 16-year-old girl, police said. Officers investigated and found the girl in good health later in the evening in Saratoga Springs, police said.
During the investigation, it was determined the teen left her home to meet Philippe. It was also determined that Philippe and the young girl had started conversing through social media over the past month, and he traveled to Saratoga Springs from Port Chester Friday in order to meet her.
Philippe is accused of having sexual relations with the girl, who because of her age was unable to legally give consent, police said.
The false personation charge was filed because Philippe lied to police about his identity during the investigation.
Philippe was arraigned and sent to Saratoga County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
