An inmate at the Saratoga County Jail died recently of a heart attack, jail officials confirmed Friday.
Richard Jordan, 52, of Saratoga Springs, collapsed as he walked down a corridor near the kitchen area Sept. 15, Col. Richard Emery said. Jordan had been serving a 90-day sentence in a petty larceny case, Emery said.
Emery said Jordan’s cause of death has been ruled natural causes, a heart attack. The jail notified the state Commission on Corrections immediately.
The jail has prepared the information for the commission, Emery said. The state commission reviews inmate deaths and investigates further if needed.
