Police said they arrested a man last weekend for firing a flare gun he had modified into a .22-caliber pistol at two women during a domestic incident.
Jah-Juan Davis, 26, of Albany, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree attempted murder, one count of first-degree criminal use of a firearm and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
On Sunday at around 9 a.m. police were called to an address on Mohawk Street for a report of a domestic incident. The two victims, both female, told police that Davis had fired a round from the pistol at them. The women were not harmed.
“Davis was taken into custody away from scene, still in possession of the modified .22-caliber pistol, which was reloaded and able to fire,” police said.
Davis was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and sent to Albany County Jail, police said.
