Simon Smith scored the only goal in Saratoga Springs’ 1-0 victory Thursday against Schenectady in Suburban Council action.

Saratoga Springs, ranked No. 12 in this week’s state poll, received the score from Smith in the 51st minute.

Colonie topped Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 2-1.

Zach Turnbull broke a 1-1 tie with the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute. He also assisted Walter Guerra’s goal.

For Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, Justin Ariel scored.

Bethlehem topped Mohonasen 5-0.

Kevin Piccolino scored twice in the win, while David Bell, Nate Weinstock and Jared Calabrese.

Ryan Henning had seven saves in the shutout.

Columbia topped Averill Park 2-1.

Andrew Curtain had both goals for Columbia, while Averill Park’s score came from Conor Willsie.

CBA used three scores from Luiz Clemente to beat Niskayuna 3-1.

Alex Chan scored for Niskayuna.

In a 4-1 win against Albany, Shenendehowa received goals from four players.

Trevor Chung, David Benson, Jaylin Sykes and Ethan Brunell all scored for the Plainsmen.

In the Foothills Council, Queensbury beat Glens Falls 3-1.

Graham Wettersten scored two goals and Teddy Borgos had one for Queensbury.

For Glens Falls, Andrew Stamatel scored.

Overtime could not provide a winner between Schuylerville and Hudson Falls, which tied 1-1.

Alex Varney scored for Hudson Falls, while Luke Saddlemire had the goal for Schuylerville.

Joey Potvin made 18 saves for Hudson Falls.

In the Wasaren League, Tamarac used overtime to top Mechanicville 2-1.

Chase Ali and Evan Peterson scored for Tamarac, while Marcus Tobin had the Mechanicville goal.

Tyler Peterson made 10 saves for Tamarac, Tyler Kraszewski had six for Mechanicville.

Waterford-Halfmoon defeated Hoosick Falls 3-1.

Hunter Guertin had two goals in the win, Tyler Helwig scored one and Joey Espey-Vanier collected two assists.

For Hoosick Falls, Pong Suthamninen had a goal.

In the Colonial Council, Schalmont topped Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 8-1.

Dan DiCocco and Antonio Viscusi each had two goals in the win. Also scoring were Franko Viscusi, Jared Smith, RJ Hayden and Matt DeFilippo.

In a 9-0 win for Albany Academy against Lansingburgh, Nicholas Moutopoulos and Ryan Uccellini each had three goals and an assist.

Luke Clement scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory for Catholic Central against Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Noah Miller made 19 saves in the shutout.

Sean Nolan had two scores and an assist in Voorheesville’s 4-3 win against LaSalle Institute.

John Moreau and Brandon Racey also scored in the win.

In defeat, Nathan Derrick had a goal and an assist.

In the Western Athletic Conference, Fonda-Fultonville topped Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville 2-1.

Fonda-Fultonville’s Jake LaGreca and Chris Epting each scored, as did Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville’s Zack Mosher.


Lexi Canavally had a goal and an assist in Mohonasen’s 3-0 Suburban Council win against Bethlehem.

Also adding goals for Mohonasen were Lexi Dean and Josie DiLallo, while Milan Pfister made 10 saves in the shutout.

Guilderland topped Ballston Spa 1-0.

Jamie Golderman scored the game-winning goal in the first half off an assist from Amanda Rice. Combining on the shutout in goal for Guilderland were Kiersten Becker and Felicia Bianca, who made five and three saves, respectively.

Theresa Loucks made 13 saves for Ballston Spa.

In a 12-0 decision, Saratoga Springs beat Schenectady.

Ya-Ya VanNess scored four goals in the win, in which Saratoga Springs led 11-0 at halftime. Julia DiMenna, Natalie Kiernan and Chloe Ray also had two goals.

Valentine Starnes had a team-high three assists plus a goal, while Haley Rumpf also scored.

Columbia topped Averill Park 2-0.

Bridget Austin and Dora Hayes each scored for Columbia. Sage Smith had five saves in the shutout.

Colonie defeated Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 3-0.

Scoring goals were Devanee Baskerville, Ianah Mackey and Lydia Malkiewicz.

In the Colonial Council, Catholic Central was a 3-1 winner against Cobleskill-Richmondville.

Emily Frodyma scored twice in the win, while Emily Drake had a goal and an assist. Also scoring goals for Catholic Central were Grace Field and Madison Peek.

Allie Pacatte scored Cobleskill-Richmondville’s goal.

Veda Hensel scored twice in Voorheesville’s 3-1 win against Catskill.

Rebecca Clair added two assists, while Julia Voss had a score and a helper in the win.

In the Wasaren League, Stillwater defeated Waterford-Halfmoon 5-0.

Brooke Pickett had three goals in the win.

In the Western Athletic Conference, Fort Plain topped Mayfield 2-1.

Amber Douglas and Emile Swank scored for Fort Plain, while Shelby Dopp had the Mayfield goal.
