The Saratoga Springs boys’ volleyball team let a two-set lead get away before recovering for a Section II Division 1 quarterfinal win over Guilderland Thursday night.

The No. 4-seeded Blue Streaks got 14 kills, seven assists and four blocks from Matt Myers, 11 kills from Mike Tillman, and 10 kills and five blocks from Greg Polmatier in their 25-22, 27-25, 20-25, 21-25, 25-22 victory over the No. 5 Dutchmen.

Tucker Pierce added 21 assists for Saratoga, which meets No. 1 seed and defending champion Shenendehowa in Tuesday’s 7 p.m. semifinal at Rensselaer. No. 3 Niskayuna and No. 2 Bethlehem play in the first semifinal at 5.

Niskayuna got 10 kills and three blocks from Damian Whittemore, and 19 assists, six digs and three aces from Jim Cesare, in a 25-14, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of No. 6 Shaker.

The semifinal winners advance to the Division 1 title match a week from tonight at 7 at Rensselaer. Defending champ Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake will take on Columbia in the Division 2 final at 5.
