Chubby’s Pizza and Deli at 1032 Crane has been shut down for code violations.

The city sent the business a notice of violation dated Sept. 12 after it didn’t have the proper certificates needed to operate, said City Attorney Carl Falotico. The city also issued a court appearance ticket prior to the business shutting down, he said. City officials had a number of conversations with the owner about getting the necessary certificates, he said.

While the business is no longer operating, its owner is still due in court to address the past violation notice, Falotico said.

The Mont Pleasant business had been a high traffic area for the Schenectady Police Department, said Sgt. Matt Dearing.

In August, a man was shot in front of Chubby’s and suffered a leg wound. Police later arrested two people in connection with the shooting.
