Montgomery County will be hosting an event at the Korean War Monument outside of the county office building in Fonda on Thursday
The county will be cleaning and enhancing the monument, which was dedicated in 1989, and unveiling a new monument honoring "individuals who paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our county’s freedoms," according to a press release from the county.
Montgomery County is also looking for relatives of the 22 people whose names are on their Korean War Monument. According to the county, the 22 people listed were killed in action during the Korean War. Anyone with information is directed to call the county executive’s office at 518-853-4304.
The event is being held Thursday, the day before Veterans Day, at the Korean War Monument at the Montgomery County Office Building on 64 Broadway in Fonda at 3 p.m.
