Police in charged a 51-year-old city man Wednesday morning with sex crimes after receiving a tip from two other area law enforcement agencies.
Samuel A. Millington, of 7 Summer St., was charged with first-degree rape, a felony, and one other sex charge. The victim knew Millington, police said.
Millington’s arrest came after a tip from state police in Queensbury and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department about a reported sex crime in their jurisdiction. An investigation revealed Millington had forcible sexual contact with the victim on more than one occasion in 2013, according to a press release from the Gloversville Police Department.
Police said Millington “sent sexually suggestive text messages to the victim, and that he forcefully had sexual intercourse with the victim, several times, while residing in Gloversville,” according to the press release.
Millington was arraigned in Gloversville City Court and sent to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash/$100,000 bond.
