Police say Stillwater woman tried to pay another child to commit assault

STILLWATER — Stillwater police have arrested a woman on charges that accuse her of paying a child to assault another child at a school bus stop before striking the child herself.

Kimberly A. Joy, 38, of Stillwater, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment, after police received a report that she offered one child $50 to attack a 12-year-old at the bus stop in Saratoga Hills Mobile Home Park, police said.

Joy then slapped the 12-year-old in the face, police said.

Police were told of the incident by Stillwater school officials, according to a prepared statement.

Joy was processed and released, but she will appear in Stillwater Town Court at a later date.
