Four people are facing charges after a sting operation to check compliance with state alcohol sales laws, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office said.
Along with the New Your State Liquor Authority, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office sent two volunteers under 21 years old into 11 businesses on Friday, Dec. 2 to see if the establishment would sell to them, police said.
Police said four people were cited with violations at four respective businesses and charged with one count each of unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale.
• Nanette M. Birsett, 52, of 33 Corinth Mountain Road, Corinth, was cited at New Star Bar, 415 Palmer Ave., Corinth.
• Justin C. Wilson, 35, of 29 Avenue E, Malta, was cited at Speedway, 3006 State Route 50, Wilton.
• Marleen M. Hansen, 34, of 435 Gurn Springs Road, Gansevoort, was cited at Sunoco, 3009 Route 50, Wilton.
• Alexander M. Rand, 31, of 1438 Route 9P, Saratoga, was cited at Sunoco, 2465 Route 9, Malta.
Police said all four suspects were processed at the scene and released with appearance tickets returnable to the respective Town Courts at a later date.
