SARATOGA SPRINGS — Caffé Lena, the city’s legendary music venue, will reopen on Friday, Dec. 30, with The Suitcase Junket, a roots rock one-man band who performed last year to launch a renovation campaign for the venue. During the six-month modernization effort, Caffé Lena took its programming on the road, with performances at The Grove at Neumann and some 12 other locations in Saratoga Springs.
The revamped Caffé Lena will feature a new, contemporary atrium entry and lobby as well as improved staircases and more accessible restrooms.
Most importantly, the performance room has been updated from 80 to 100 seats, with better sightlines and a new state-of-the-art sound system.
The venue will announce a grand opening in the spring, when its long-awaited elevator is complete, making the coffeehouse accessible to more members of the community.
“We’re thrilled to be back home,” said Caffe Lena Executive Director Sarah Craig.
