A Schenectady woman destroyed an East Greenbush McDonald's counter over hash browns she felt weren't hot enough, police said Thursday.

Chelsea M. McGrath, 22, of Schenectady faces a charge of criminal damage to property, police said.

The incident happened at the McDonald's on Troy Road. A police release issued Thursday afternoon did not indicate the time of the call or confirm the date.

Employees at the restaurant, however, contacted police to report "that a woman had just left after going berserk because her hash brown food order was not hot enough."

In the process, the woman smashed the glass counter at the walk-up food service window, the release reads. Police responded, found McGrath and charged her.
