Troopers: Ballston Lake man possessed heroin, needles

A Ballston Lake man is accused of possessing heroin and hypodermic needles after police said he was observed slowly driving a damaged vehicle with a flat tire.

State police said Brett Maguire, 25, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument and issued numerous tickets after he left the scene of an accident in Clifton Park this week. Police observed drug paraphernalia while interviewing Maguire and then located heroin and hypodermic needles in the vehicle, troopers said.
