Stewart’s Shops customers donated a record $926,000-plus to this year’s Holiday Match program, helping to raise more than $1.85 million for local children’s organizations, the company announced Monday.
Donations were made from Thanksgiving through Christmas and were matched “penny for penny” by Stewart’s, the company said in a news release.
This was the third consecutive year customers set a record for fundraising. This year’s customer-donation tally exceeded last year’s mark by about $56,000, the company said.
We are impressed by our customers’ generosity season after season. They have joined us in supporting local children’s charities for 30 years now, raising more than $24 million,” Stewart’s Shops President Gary Dake said in the release.
Children’s charities can apply for their share in the funding through Jan. 31 online at www.stewartsshops.com or by picking up an application at any Stewart’s location. Funds will be allocated in March.
