ALBANY — Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's office announced Friday that he will provide an update to residents of the Capital Region about his policy proposals and initiatives for 2017 at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The speech will be given in University at Albany's Performing Arts Center, according to a prepared statement from the governor's office.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced his plan last month to deliver his annual State of the State address through a region-by-region tour — a shift from the longstanding method of delivery, directly to the Legislature, that has Capital Region lawmakers speaking out.
The governor has given the speech at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center since taking office in 2011, moving it from the Assembly chamber, its home for decades prior. the designated press area between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on January 11.
Cuomo's office also announced Friday he will give a speech at 11 a.m. Monday at 1 World Trade Center in New York City; at 3 p.m. Monday at the University at Buffalo, in Buffalo; At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at SUNY Purchase in Purchase, New York; at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, New York; and at 1 p.m. Wednesday — after the Albany speech — at Carrier Theater, in Syracuse.
