Neighbors urged to watch out for each other's properties

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- City police are urging residents to be vigilant, after four successful or attempted home burglaries were reported over the holidays.

The incidents have happened in the Meadowbrook subdivision and on Meadowbrook Road, beginning the last two weeks of December, police said.

“The criminal element does not take winter off,” the department said in a news release. “We ask that our community remains on the lookout for suspicious activity, reports it in a timely manner, and stays aware of neighbors that may be traveling during the winter months.”

The investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 584-1800, or call 584-TIPS to leave an anonymous message, police said.
