Barbara M. Morris, 36, of Third Avenue, pleaded guilty to assault and attempted assault. She is to receive a total of nine years in state prison at her May sentencing.
Morris was accused of stabbing the man July 22 and then Aug. 3. She was arrested after the first incident, then released after six days later.
In the first incident, Morris was accused of using a knife to stab the man in the left arm and back. Police arrested her immediately and she was ordered held.
She was released July 28 after a deadline lapsed to either indict her or hold a hearing. An order of protection remained in effect, ordering her to stay away from the man.
Then, on Aug. 3, Morris caught up with the man near the corner of Third Avenue and Orchard Street, stabbing him several times in the torso, authorities said then.
Morris pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in the first incident and first-degree attempted assault in the second.
