In November 2015, my husband of 51 years and I moved from Schenectady, our lifelong city of residence, to Saratoga Springs because of my husband’s Alzheimer’s.
For seven months we enjoyed life together at the beautiful Grove on Lake Avenue. In June 2016, my husband became a resident of the Wesley Health Care Community. On Jan. 6, 2017, he peacefully passed away at Saratoga Hospital.
My family and I cannot sufficiently thank the staff we were blessed with at both facilities. They exhibited such teamwork, strong work ethic and compassion. Each day at the facility was one that added joy to his final months. The care he received on C3 at Saratoga Hospital gave his final week peace and pain-free comfort.
The hands-on jobs at facilities like these two are the most difficult to recruit for in the healthcare system. The people of Saratoga Springs, and its surrounding areas, are indeed fortunate. Our family will be forever grateful for my husband’s fine care.
