COLONIE -- A Scotia man has been arrested on child pornography charges, police said.

Nathan W. Jaquays, 33, of 435 Ballston Road, Apt. 48, faces four felony counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child.

Jaquays was arrested by Colonie police Friday morning after a months-long investigation, police said. An undercover investigator downloaded more than 300 videos and images of child pornography from an IP address associated with Jaquays on four occasions from October to March, police said. Police seized computers and storage devices from his residence and arrested him after questioning, police said.

There is no indication that Jaquays had contact with any underage victims or that any of the files contained local victims, police said.

Jaquays was arraigned and ordered held in jail.

Colonie police worked with the FBI, state police and Homeland Security to investigate the case.
