SCHENECTADY -- A Central Park Middle School student has been charged in connection with a threatening note that prompted evacuation of the school Monday, police said.

The student is facing charges in Family Court of falsely reporting an incident, police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Dearing said. The student's name wasn't released, due to his age.

The school was evacuated after a student found a note about a possible bomb, police said at the time. The school at 421 Elm St. was evacuated, and police were called to search the school.

Students were evacuated to the nearby Ellis McClellan Campus parking lot and later dismissed from there.
