Grateful for postal customers’ donations
Postal food drive responses was excellent
We want to express our sincere appreciation to everyone in Schenectady and the surrounding communities including Niskayuna, Glenville, Scotia and Rotterdam, who donated non-perishable food items to the 25th annual national Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive that took place on Saturday, May 13.
The 69,000 pounds collected here in Schenectady’s event speaks volumes about the caring attitude and positive community spirit in Schenectady. We commend the residents who opened their hearts and cupboards to support those families in our community who need a helping hand.
We are extremely proud of the letter carriers and their postal co-workers who helped collect and transport containers filled to the brim with food. The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is another remarkable example of how postal employees deliver more than just mail for the community.
With 49 million people facing hunger every day in American including nearly 16 million children, the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is one way we are able to lend a hand. It is genuinely inspiring to witness the community and Schenectady postal employees working together to combat hunger in America.
Thank you, Schenectady, for putting your stamp on the fight against hunger.
