LENOX, Mass. -- Tanglewood announced Tuesday that music legend Pete Townshend, guitarist-vocalist for the British band The Who, will be performing songs from the classic album "Quadrophenia" at the Shed on Saturday, Sept. 2.
The music will be performed by Townshend, Billy Idol and Alfie Boe along with the Boston Pops Orchestra, with Keith Lockhart conducting.
Tickets to the concert will go on sale to the public next Tuesday, June 13, but tickets can be purchased in advance by joining the Friends of Tanglewood.
Duet level ($200) online ticketing will be available beginning Thursday (June 8).

Donations must be received by 5 p.m. Wednesday (June 7) to receive advance ticketing access on Thursday (June 8).
The Who, one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century, formed in 1964, composed of Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, Keith Moon and Townshend.
Their hit songs include "My Generation," "I Can See for Miles," "I Can't Explain," "Substitute," "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Pinball Wizard."
