MECHANICVILLE — A city man with a record of driving drunk was charged with felony driving while intoxicated Saturday after a concerned citizen reported his driving, city police said.
Timothy G. Whitman, 49, was pulled over for a traffic infraction following the call, police said. The responding officer smelled alcohol and observed glassy eyes and impaired motor coordination, according to authorities.
The officer administered a field sobriety test before taking Whitman into custody, police said.
He was charged with aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher and having two DWI convictions in the past 10 years, police said.
Whitman also faces numerous vehicle and traffic charges.
