A Galway man died in the aftermath of a truck vs. motorcycle crash in Charlton Friday afternoon, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office said.

The man, 50, was riding his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle in the wrong lane eastbound on Old State Route 67 near Route 67 when it crashed into a 2000 Dodge pick-up truck that was making a left turn at 1:26 p.m., police said.

The motorcyclist broke his leg and was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment, where he suffered a medical event and died, police said.

"At this time it is not known to what extent if any the collision played in the Galway man’s death," police said in a press release. The man's name will be released when next-of-kin has been notified.

The driver of the pick-up, Kevin M. Delaney, 22, of Ballston Spa, was cited for operating a motor vehicle while having a suspended driver’s license, police said, but was uninjured.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any other information are asked to contact Deputy D.P. Zecca at dzecca@saratogacountyny.gov.
